About · Builder, leader, translator

Between how it works and how it feels.

Julie Driscoll is an engineering leader focused on frontend engineering, UX, design systems, and developer experience. She is at her best where product thinking, technical judgment, and care for the people building the thing all matter.

Working principles

Useful can still be delightful.

  • Tiny details are part of product quality.
  • Systems should make good choices easier.
  • Prototypes are tools for learning, not theater.
  • Developer experience reaches the end user.
  • Leadership means making the whole team stronger.

1997–2015

The long way into the web

Moved from publication design and interactive learning into rich media, startups, connected devices, frontend architecture, and product engineering — always somewhere near the seam between how a thing works and how it feels.
